Patina Miller
Miller performed the role of lead in Stephen Schwartz's 1972 Broadway show "Pippin". Produced by Tony Award-winning Director Diane Paulus, and also starring Matthew James Thomas, Andrea Martin and Terrence Mann, "Pippin" received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical at the 67th Annual Tony Awards. Patina did a great job of putting a modern spin on the role created by award-winning actor Ben Vereen and mastered the Fosse moves that the production depends so heavily upon. Patina's performance won her an Tony Award in the category of Best Actress, Leading Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was also given to her for Outstanding Actress. The previous part she was in was the Lead actor at the American Repertory Theater in "Pippin" which ran from December 2012 until January 2013. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
